The new CD from Toronto Canada's Emilia is titled E, and features ten brand new original songs. E was co-produced in the spring of 2014 by Emilia and musical arranger Joel Lightman at Noble Street Studios in Toronto, and was engineered and mixed by Juno Award winner George Seara (Drake, Rhianna, Holly Cole).
Emilia has always drawn lyrical inspiration from her own personal life experiences, and the new album has a live off the floor feel that includes elements of pop, rock, progressive house, piano centred ballads, jazz and blues.
The new full length CD E, follows up on Emilia's 2013 breakthrough 4 song debut EP Flying Colors, that featured the successful radio single "Closer All The Time". Flying Colors received overwhelming critical praise from Canada's top music critics, including Kerry Doole of New Canadian Music, Lenny Stoute Editor of Cashbox Canada, Keith Sharp of Music Express, Juliette Jagger from Alan Cross' " A Journey Of Musical Things", Charmaine Elizabeth-Merchant from Spill Magazine, and the Canadian Encyclopedia of Rock's Jaimie Vernon.
As if she wasn't busy enough writing, recording, and rehearsing for upcoming live performances, Emilia is also currently concluding her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in York University's Honours Music Program, where she has studied with some of Canada's finest jazz musicians, including Frank Falco, Kelly Jefferson, Sherie Marshall, Mike Cado and Richard Whiteman.
